Volkswagen will reveal a new plug-in hybrid concept car at the forthcoming Beijing motor show.
The new SUV is expected to have a 375 bhp powertrain and could play a key role in the future of VW’s popular Touareg model.
VW believe the car will offer around 94 mpg, but it will be capable of 0-62 mph in six seconds and have a top speed of 140 mph.
Interior-wise, VW confirmed it will feature a relaxed space with a real emphasis on ergonomics. Interestingly, the standard steering wheel dials and infotainment displays will be behind a large sheet of glass.
Full details of the car will be revealed at the Beijing Motor Show, which begins towards the end of this month.
