Volvo has seen a strong growth in sales during the first six months of the year.
The automaker has sold a total of 256,563 cars during the period, with June sales up by 10.6 per cent – the 13th consecutive month of growth.
Sales in Europe increase by 10.3 per cent to 138,851 cars during the first half of 2016, Sweden, Germany, the UK and France proving strong areas for Volvo.
The XC60 was the best-selling Volvo model in the UK, followed by the V40 and the XC90.
Jon Wakefield, Acting Managing Director of Volvo Car UK, said: "This impressive half-year result and sustained growth is a reflection of the continued hard work from everyone here at Volvo Car UK and our dealer network. It is also yet more proof of the desirability of our products."
He added: "Volvo has ambitious plans – both in the UK and on a global scale – and the UK’s strong performance shows that we’re right to be confident about another record-breaking year for the company."
