Skoda’s enjoys strong July

Skoda has seen strong demand during July as its target market expands.

Figures from the automaker revealed it sold a total of 83,700 vehicles in July – one per cent more than in the same month in 2015.

Demand has risen in a number of markets, with sales up by 16.1 per cent in China and 11.6 per cent in Russia.

In particular, the Skoda Superb has seen the greatest increase in popularity, with sales rising by 92.7 per cent over the past 12 months.

Werner Eichhorn, Skoda board member for sales and marketing, said: “Across all markets, we see that our young model range is appealing increasingly to new consumer groups.

“Skoda will be consistently expanding its model range over the coming years. In this context, the brand will be strengthening its position in the important SUV segment.”

The new Skoda Kodiaq SUV will be revealed at the start of next month in Berlin, before being launched in February 2017.
