Ford is set to release the first five-door version of its popular Fiesta ST.
Available alongside the three-door model, it is expected the new version will appeal to those parents with small children or who require easier access to the rear seats.
“Ford has now sold more than 38,000 Fiesta STs in Europe since we introduced the acclaimed hot hatchback in 2013, and growing numbers of customers have been asking us for a five-door version,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president of marketing, sales & service at Ford of Europe.
“The Fiesta ST with five doors makes an affordable Ford Performance driving experience accessible to an even greater number of customers.”
Buyers opting for the 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine will benefit from 0 to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds and 46.3mpg fuel efficiency with 141g/km emissions.
Prices will start from £19,945 in the UK and the new five-door Fiesta will be available from next month.
