MG ZS compact SUV revealed

MG’s new compact SUV has been revealed at the Guangzhou Motor Show and details of the Nissan Juke rival are already emerging.

The car will share at least one engine option with the MG’s large GS model, but styling-wise the vehicles are very different.

UK buyers will be able to own the car in 2-18 and is set to be aimed at younger drivers looking for a compact, but sportier, SUV.

It is likely there will be the option of a 1.5-litre engine capable of producing 164bhp and 184lb of torque, with ZS owners being able to choose from a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

There could also be a 123bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 125lbft of torque that will be offered on the Chinese market, but it has not yet been confirmed for the UK.
