Ahead of the launch of new Ford Focus deals, the next generation of the model has been undergoing testing in extreme locations across the world.
It has been driven over frozen arctic lakes, deserts and alpine passes to ensure that those who opt for new Ford Focus deals receive impeccable reliability and dependability.
The car is currently being tested on the 48km Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
Ford vehicle integration engineer Bernd Herweling is to drive the high-altitude course every day for two weeks.
“We’re evaluating driveability on steep mountain roads from a customer perspective. The bottom line is we’re here to find out how the car performs driving up and down seriously steep hills,” he explained.
Last month, production of the Ford Focus RS superhatch ceased and the last UK-bound units were delivered to their dealers.
To commemorate this, Ford offered a special, WRC-style wheel option – 19-inch, white-finished alloys available at £500 per set, including VAT.
