Consumers who take up Ford Fiesta deals have the chance to take part in a new training programme designed to improve their fuel efficiency.
Ford has teamed up with AA DriveTech to launch the Econo Driver Training course for Ford owners who have participated in the Econo Check programme.
Based around a 35-point vehicle inspection, the service involves the installation of a small data logger which monitors a person’s driving style and fuel economy over the course of a week.
A personalised report is then created using the data and highlights possible improvements, including speed, anticipation, braking and gear change.
Andy Barratt, director of Ford’s customer service division in the UK, praised the scheme, saying: “It’s a great opportunity to save money, as well as to reduce your impact on the environment.”
Ford recently revealed that it has tested its next-generation Ford Focus in some of the most extreme locations on the planet, including frozen Arctic lakes and deserts, as part of reliability checks.
