The Fiat 500 has been named as the top car in its category in the recent Sunday Times Top 100 cars.
Fiat’s popular 500 was praised in the city class for its style and use of new technology to give a good driving experience.
The latest version of the car went on sale in September last year and the update benefited from revised exterior style including new bumpers, front and rear light systems and new colour options.
Inside the car, buyers were also able to enjoy a new Uconnect infotainment system with optional DAB and TomTom satellite navigation.
Prices for the FIAT 500 TwinAir 85hp are just over £13,000, with prices for the FIAT 500 starting from £10,890 for the 1.2 litre Pop model.
Sebastiano Fedrigo, head of brand Fiat UK, said he was delighted to pick up the win and it was a good start to the new year.
He added: “It’s wonderful that the experts appreciate the enhancements that we made to our iconic city car, which were introduced to keep the FIAT 500 ahead of the pack in terms of connectivity and technological features while also evolving its unmistakable style and broadening its appeal even further.”
Fiat will be hoping its new Fiat 124 Spider, which will launch later in the year, will also attract similar praise for the industry.
