Volvo sales on the rise

The UK arm of Volvo has celebrated its best sales results for more than two decades.

According to the latest figures, Volvo UK has sold 43,432 cars in 2015 – a six per cent increase on the previous year.

The company’s biggest selling car was the V40/V40 Cross Country with a total of 17,068 being sold in the 12-month period.

Internationally, Volvo sold 503,127 cars in 2015 – making it the first time the car maker has sold more than half a million cars in a year.

Nick Connor, managing director of Volvo Car UK, said it had been a great period for the company and signaled a great future.

He added: “With the strongest sales here in the UK for two decades, and the highest sales worldwide ever, Volvo is a brand that is going places. And with other technologically advanced, luxurious and distinctive models on the horizon, we’re confident that these record-breaking figures will continue into 2016 and beyond.”
