One of the world’s finest motoring shows is opening its doors for another year, with new Porsche and Aston Martin models making big waves.

One of the world’s finest motoring shows is back for another year – the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Taking place on August 21st at the picturesque Pebble Beach Golf Course, California, the motoring show invites the finest motorcars in the world new and old from collectors from over 20 different countries, all converging to potentially win a “Best in Show” prize. With the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop, it’s one of the most lavish car events on the calendar, and this year, there are big showcases from Aston Martin, new Porsche, Lincoln and Le Mans.

Aston Martin

First up, Aston Martin is hopping across the pond to unveil two new cars at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. One is a racing-focused addition that will celebrate the British company’s recent success in the Le Mans 24hr race, likely bolstering an existing model in their range. The second new reveal is a road-going performance model that will sit alongside the Aston Martin Valkyrie at the event. They look as though they are eager to steal the show with these new models, but for now, everything is being kept top-secret until the big day.

If you’re looking for a high-performance supercar yourself, cars2buy has a collection of new Aston Martin leases available to purchase for a few years. Le Mans 24hrs Centennial Primer

Next year is the 100th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the most famous endurance race in the world. Older than any endurance motor race out there, the race has become the ultimate test of the natural skill and strength of a driver and car, as 85% of the track is at full-throttle speed.

There have been many major spectacles from this race in its deep history, such as the 1969 race which saw Jacky Ickx walk to his car during the now-inconceivable Le Mans start. Or the epic 1966 race which saw Ford and Ferrari go head-to-head, with Ford coming through with a 1-2-3 victory.

To whet our appetite for what next year might bring, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is giving us a starter. The event promises to hold the famed Ford Mark IV, which won the infamous 1967 race, as well as several other legendary competitors over the decades. If this is what they are teasing us with, who knows how they top it next year?

Lincoln Centennial

American luxury sedan maker Lincoln is commemorating the 100th continuous year of business in their history. The company was actually founded in 1917, but after WWI brought them to extinction financially, they were bought out by none other than Ford in 1922. Since then, they have represented elite refinement crossed with Americana (perfect for the Golden Coast) and even created presidential cars for a 50-year period between 1939 and 1989.

At Pebble Beach, Lincoln is bringing a showcase of their sophisticated offerings throughout the 10 decades they have been creating quality cars. It’s a mystery for now about what they will bring, but rumours suggest that versions of their world-renowned Continental from over the years will be there, including some from their golden periods in the 40s and 50s.
