Britain's harsh winter is already causing havoc on the roads with a number of potholes appearing on Britain's crumbling roads.
The AA recently said that some of Britain's roads are on borrowed time after potholes, snow and heavy rain have produced some of the "worst driving conditions imaginable".
Simon Douglas, director of AA Insurance, has urged motorists to remain vigilant when driving to avoid potholes damaging their cars.
He added that the AA is expecting a significant increase in reports of damage caused by potholes this year as three harsh winters and a backlog of road repairs combined with funding cuts has left many roads in a state of disrepair.
"Cuts in road maintenance budgets of 20 per cent mean that local authorities face very difficult choices on the roads they prioritise for repair. Whilst they may fix the dangerous potholes many are likely to go unrepaired," Mr Douglas stated.
The organisation has also stated that it may be possible to claim for damage from the highway authority if a known pothole remains unrepaired.
