Vauxhall's latest Astra will go on sale in the UK in October and is set to prove a best seller.
Launched at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show, the all-new Astra will be built at Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port manufacturing plant in Cheshire.
It has been designed to be lighter than its previous version and buyers will be able to choose from a number of petrol and diesel options, such as a 1.4-litre (150PS) ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo and a 1.6-litre CDTi Whisper Diesel.
As well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the car will be the first Vauxhall to make use of OnStar. This is cutting-edge technology that includes high-speed 4G LTE mobile network, emergency response notification and stolen vehicle recovery alert.
"The all-new Brit-built Astra raises the bar in terms of quality, design and connectivity," explained Tim Tozer, Vauxhall's chairman and managing director.
"Lighter than ever before, with new powertrains and cutting-edge technology, the new Astra is set to shake up the C-segment when it arrives in showrooms this autumn."
On the road prices will start from £15,295 and will be available from dealers at the start of next month.
