Christopher Dean opts for Ford Kuga

Christopher Dean has opted for the all-new Ford Kuga to get him to and from the set of hit TV show Dancing on Ice.

The ice skating star – who shot to fame by winning Winter Olympic gold in 1984 alongside dancing partner Jayne Torvill – has been driving the vehicle to Elstree Studio for this series of the programme.

Recent months have seen Britain hit by all manner of hazardous weather conditions – and the Ford Kuga has ensured Dean has made it to practices and recordings regardless of whether it was snowing or raining heavily.

Dean and Torvill acted as mentors on the show, the latest series of which ended yesterday (March 10th) with Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle taking home the coveted trophy after defeating actor Matt Lapinskas and boxer Luke Campbell in the final.

The Kuga could prove to be an ideal buy for motorists considering the latest Ford deals as its new engineered system is designed to help drivers safely navigate all road conditions.

This setup evaluates the situation every 16 miliseconds – which is around 20 times faster than a blinking eye – and aims to give people improved handling and traction by adjusting the power split from the front wheels to the back.

As a result, drivers are likely to notice reductions in their yaw rate error and wheel spin levels.

Anthony Ireson, marketing director at Ford of Britain, said: "The all-new Ford Kuga's intelligent all-wheel drive system, complete with a handy information screen displaying the torque demand on each wheel, offers improved ride and handling.

"Complemented by the Torque Vectoring System, Electronic Stability Programme, trailer sway and roll stability control, it is also easy to understand how the Kuga has achieved its five star Euro NCAP rating."

The Kuga also boasts a torque on demand feature, which delivers up to 100 per cent of available drivetrain power to the front or rear axis in a bid to prevent excessive wheel slip when the roads are particularly icy or wet.
