Citroen’s DS3 and C3 join free congestion charge list

People looking for environmentally-friendly Citroen deals may wish to check out the stylish DS3 and the new C3 Airdream.

Both vehicles are eligible for the new Greener Vehicle 100 per cent Discount (GVD), which has been introduced by Transport for London today (January 4th), as they have CO2 emissions of just 99g/km.

The new rules allow drivers of vehicles emitting 100g/km of CO2 or less which comply with Euro5 standards for air quality to enter the London congestion charge zone free of charge, saving motorists up to £2,500 a year.

Linda Jackson, Citroen UK managing director, said: "This change further highlights the importance of driving cleaner, greener cars in urban environments.

"Citroen is continuing to make significant progress in reducing emissions across its whole vehicle range and encouraging drivers to make environmentally conscious driving decisions."

She added that choosing a greener car does not necessarily mean sacrificing style, comfort or driving pleasure.

The Citroen DS3 recently picked up the Fifth Gear Small Car of the Year award just days after picking up a similar award from Top Gear Magazine.
