New Fiat deals could be set to become more popular among drivers in the UK after the manufacturer won an award for one of its engines.
The FPT 1.4-litre turbo engine – the first from the manufacturer to feature revolutionary MultiAir technology – won the Best New Engine of the Year category at a recent awards ceremony held by Engine Technology International.
Dean Slavnich, the magazine’s editor, said: "Lots of power combined with serious reductions in emissions makes this a very good engine."
The latest new Fiat deals to feature the engine include the Giulietta, while it is also soon to be added to the Fiat Bravo.
It is not the first time Fiat has been honoured for the quality of its engines, after it won the 1.0 to 1.4-litre capacity class of the International Engine of the Year in 2005 with its 1.3-litre MultiJet engine.
Fiat recently celebrated a production milestone at its plant in San Nicola di Melfi in Italy, when the five millionth vehicle was completed.
