First limited edition Qashqai delivered

The first of 2007 limited edition Nissan Qashqais has been delivered to its proud new owner.

Frankie Hipwell-Larkin, the founder of the Qashqai Club – an independent online community for fans of Nissan’s record-breaking crossover – received the keys to the Premier model.

The new car deal came about as the result of Mr Hipwell-Larkin owning a first-generation Qashqai and putting his deposit down for the Premier Limited Edition as soon as the all-new model was unveiled in November.

When he was behind the wheel of the car for the first time, he could not hide his enthusiasm, stating: "I've been looking forward to the launch of the new model for a long time and now it’s here, and I’m able to drive it away, it's fantastic.

"Knowing that my new Qashqai is number one of 2007 exclusive models makes it extra special and is a nice bit of added kudos."

Mr Hipwell-Larkin said he launched the Qashqai Club so that owners would have a forum to get together, chat and ultimately tell Nissan what they thought of the Qashqai and it is apparent that the manufacturer has took the feedback on board with the new car.

His special model is based on the range-topping Tekna variant and shows the Qashqai's ability to incorporate both accessible technology and bold design.

The run of 2007 is a reference to the year in which the model originally launched, but despite this number, only 290 will be sold in the UK.

If car buyers are interested, they should know that to get one, they too need to have proof that they owned an original Qashqai, otherwise they can get the Tekna model, which also features 19-inch alloy wheels and sector-first Bi-LED headlamps and roof rails, heated front seats, the new NissanConnect entertainment and navigation system and a panoramic glass roof.

Prices in the all-new Qashqai range start from £17,595.
