Fleet event ‘sees biggest collection of Fiat vehicles’

A fleet event has witnessed the largest collection of Fiat Group Automobiles UK coming together in one place.

More than 70 vehicles from the manufacturer were on show at the Fiat Group Drive Day, which was organised to demonstrate the carmaker's broad range of models.

Car fans and those searching for the latest Fiat deals may have been interested in the event as all the designs on display – including those from Fiat, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Chrylser, Fiat Professional and Abarth – were available for a test run on the National Circuit at Rockingham Motor Speedway in Northamptonshire.

A total of 170 invited contract hire and corporate guests took 830 test drives on the day, while other events included off-road driving, a skid pan experience and track time.

Gerry Southerington, fleet operations manager for Fiat Group Automobiles UK, said: "In terms of numbers, the attendance was very good indeed representing one of the best attended fleet events we have held recently."

Mr Southerington expressed his delight at that clients were brought along by the group's corporate hire customers to have a try of its sizeable vehicle range.

He explained that while Fiat is highly regarded for its smaller cars including the Panda and Fiat 500, "this event has shown that there is an awful lot more to the Fiat Group than that. It has raised the profile of all of our brands".

To add to the experience of Fiat Group Drive Day and build on its success, clients are also to have the opportunity to take part in a demonstrator programme, which should allow for an evaluation of the vehicles that is more in-depth than what they have been through before.

Fiat recently announced the launch of its new Punto Jet Black, which is a limited edition of the popular Punto design and is aimed at younger drivers.

The vehicle boast black matt stripes, that run vertically down the top and front of the motor.
