Ford drivers to drive in London for free

Motorists who drive Ford vehicles equipped with ECOnetic technology will benefit from new London Congestion Charge regulations set to come into force in January.

From January 4th, Transport for London's (TfL) new greener vehicle 100 per cent discount will be implemented, which means that cars with CO2 emissions below 100g/km that meet Euro5 air quality standards will be entitled to drive into London for free.

Drivers looking for Ford deals will be interested to hear that both the Ford Fiesta and the Fiesta Van ECOnetic models both emit 98g/km of CO2, meaning they both qualify for the 100 per cent congestion charge discount.

Jon Wellsman, sales director Ford of Britain, said: "Ford offers a large range of cars and commercial vehicles and I am delighted that they include vehicles which will be exempt from the London Congestion Charge."

"Even more exciting is the introduction of our zero-emission Transit Connect Electric in 2011 and Focus Electric in 2012."
TfL recently revealed that in order to qualify for the discount drivers must pay an annual fee of £10.
