Ford Focus passes extreme weather testing

Motorists looking for new Ford Focus deals will be delighted to hear that the new Focus has come through a series of extreme weather tests unscathed.

It was frozen in arctic Sweden and tested to its limits in the desert of Arizona as well as going through a series of stringent tests at the Environmental Test Laboratory at Ford's Dunston Technical Centre in Essex.

Engineers at the Dunston research centre can recreate the worst weather imaginable with temperatures up to 55 deg C and a low of -40 deg C.

Ford's all-new Focus has spent thousands of hours inside the laboratory to ensure it will cope with anything mother nature throws at it.

Bruce Thirkettle, Environmental Test Lab supervisor, said: "We torture test vehicles here, so customers can enjoy worry-free motoring in Ford vehicles from launch."

The test laboratory can also simulate altitude of up to 4,000 metres above sea level and wind speeds of up to 140mph.
Ford is expected to unveil its brand new all-electric Ford Focus in the coming months.
