Motorists looking for Ford deals will be interested to hear that the engine in the Ford S-MAX has undergone a remap at the hands of Superchips.
The S-MAX uses the brand new 203PS 2.0-litre direct injection turbocharged ECOboost engine, which will become the mainstay of the Ford range in the near future.
Superchips' engineers have fine tuned the engine to provide an extra 40bhp, with performance increasing from 1500rpm to the rev limiter.
Despite the increase in power Superchips has maintained the S-MAX's class leading 35mpg combined fuel economy during the remap of the engine.
The Superchips ECU remap for the Ford Focus S-MAX requires installation at one of approximately 80 Superchips performance centres, where trained technicians can undertake the procedure.
Superchips' remap is suitable for all Ford S-MAX 2.0-litre, 203 PS ECOboost models produced from March 2010 onwards.
Ford recently announced the introduction of its new Driver Alert System which is designed to prevent accidents by analysing driver performance and issuing a wake-up call should it detect driver drowsiness or erratic steering.
