Ford set to unveil new electric-powered Focus

Motorists looking for Ford deals may be interested to hear that the manufacturer has unveiled its new MYFord mobile application, which allows users to monitor the level of remaining charge in a Ford electric vehicle.

The application can also help Ford drivers save money by alerting users when an electric vehicle should start charging to take advantage of cheaper electricity rates.

Users can enter a specific time when they want to use the car and add details of how long they intend to travel and the app will calculate the appropriate length of charge needed and also highlight charging points on route.

The mobile app uses GPS to locate its user's vehicle and can also be used to unlock the car remotely, which could be useful if you've locked the keys inside.

Ford's app will be made available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry.

The manufacturer is expected to unveil its brand new all-electric Ford Focus in the coming months.
