Ford will debut the new Transit Connect Electric at the first ever RAC Future Car Challenge.

Ford is planning to enter three vehicles into the event which rewards competitors for the least energy on a 60 mile route from Brighton to London.
The Transit Connect Electric is a zero-emission, pure electric-powered version of the award-winning Transit Connect and is due to go on sale in Europe 2011.
Drivers looking to buy one of the electric powered Transit vans will be interested to hear that the state of the art lithium ion battery pack is capable travelling up to 80 miles and has a top speed of 75mph.
The Ford Focus ECOnetic and the Ford Fiesta Van ECOnetic will also be taking part in the challenge.
