Hyundai has confirmed the addition of a new 1.7-litre diesel option to its existing Tucson SUV line-up.
Buyers will now have the choice of an efficient 1.7-litre diesel with seven-speed double-clutch transmission (7DCT).
Offering 20 per cent higher fuel efficiency, the new option will have emissions of 129g of CO2/km, while providing a maximum torque of 340 Nm.
The compact SUV has been awarded the maximum five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and includes a number of safety features as standard.
Drivers can benefit from Blind Spot Detection which warns of approaching vehicles, while the Lane Keeping Assist System tracks steering to prevent unintended lane departure.
Launched at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Tucson is designed to rival the popular Nissan Qashqai. Current engine options include a 1.6-litre petrol block offering 133 bhp and 174 bhp and the 2.0-litre diesel is available in a choice of 134 bhp and 181 bhp options.
In terms of transmission, buyers can choose from a six-speed manual, six-speed automatic and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
