Although Hyundai’s first Veloster was not a massive success in the UK, it did prove popular across the rest of Europe.
Therefore, the automaker is planning a follow-up that could improve on the limited sales in the UK.
The details of the new Veloster were revealed at the recent Detroit Motor Show and it has retained its rather unusual styling – with both five-doors and three-doors on the one car.
Inside the Veloster has been updated to offer buyers improved infotainment and smartphone connectivity.
In terms of engine, the Veloster will be available with two options – a 1.6-litre petrol engine capable of 198 bhp, and a 144 bhp two-litre block.
For those looking for something with more power, then the Hyundai Veloster N will offer a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivering 271 bhp and is expected to be capable of 0-60 mph in just over six seconds.
