Jaguar F-Pace Overview

Jaguar F Pace

In this review…

The Jaguar F-Pace helped revitalise the company, but does the new model improve enough to stay ahead of competitors?

Jaguar can count their blessings for their flagship SUV. The Jaguar F-Pace has become the British carmaker’s best-selling model and inarguably helped revitalise them. Many once thought that the F-Pace was a risk when it was first introduced in 2016, which seems daft now. The way the F-Pace marries the sporting heritage of Jaguar with the industry’s newfound love for SUVs.

With the new Jaguar F-Pace improving on an already-beloved formula, you’d think that there would be little downfall. However, the SUV market has exploded with a competitor to the F-Pace from every carmaker out there. Jaguar now has to compete with the Mercedes GLE-Class, Porsche Macan S, Audi SQ5 and far more. Does the F-Pace still hold its own against these huge names? Is a Jaguar F-Pace lease still one of the best that money can buy? We look at all aspects, from the body to interior and, drive to trim options, to find out.

Body and Interior

From the jump, the Jaguar F-Pace has always been a handsome machine. Its chunky, Escalade-inspired design makes it a highly desirable crossover, stretching the traditional Jaguar aesthetic to fit over a much larger body without it looking horrific. As we see so often in the SUV world, this is harder than it looks.

Where the F-Pace used to falter is the interior, which didn’t carry over that Jaguar stamp of luxury. The new Jaguar F-Pace corrects this, bringing in high-class materials and finding space where you least expect them to. Rich in detail and technology, you’re treated to cloud connectivity, real-time navigation updates and an 11-inch curved infotainment screen.

Drive and Trim Options

The F-Pace’s driving style is more involved than your average SUV. Its weighty design means cornering is lively but still very capable of grip. However, as is standard for Jaguar, its top-notch suspension means it absorbs bumps and potholes with ease, and at no expense to your comfort.

The new Jaguar F-Pace trim options are a-plenty, with an all-new lineup of engines. Apart from the entry-level 2.0L turbo petrol version, all of the six available engines are electrified in some capacity, from mildly electric to full plug-in. One of the more notable trims is the P400e, which has a 2.0L petrol plug-in hybrid that has almost 400bhp and a claimed electric-only driving range of 33 miles.

With the quality-of-life improvements made, a Jaguar F-Pace lease is still one of the smartest buys on the market. Ideal for long-haul trips, the F-Pace has tightened up its previous faults to make a car that is, in essence, bulletproof.
