Kia ‘getting in the Red Nose Day spirit’

Kia Motors is getting in the charity spirit by raising funds for Red Nose Day.

The manufacturer has revealed its dealer network will host a range of events to generate cash for the good cause, with the carmaker hoping to get both employees and customers involved in the proceedings.

Taking place on Friday March 15th, Red Nose Day is celebrating its 25th year – and Kia is determined to make as much money as possible to mark the occasion.

It is hoped the brand will collect around £120,000 this year, with numerous fundraising activities in the pipeline.

These include one member of staff shaving off all of their hair, while another plans to dye theirs red. In addition, marathon runs, golf days and comedy nights are being staged to make sure the company meets its fundraising target.

People on the lookout for the latest Kia deals may therefore take heart from knowing the brand they are buying from is placing such an emphasis on contributing to good causes.

Paul Philpott, president and chief executive officer at Kia Motors UK, said: "To be supporting Red Nose Day for the third time is a real honour.

"The support that we receive from our dealers and customers is always a great boost and to know that the money we raise goes to help those in need both here in the UK and in Africa is even more of an incentive."

Kia is hopeful that customers visiting their local dealership will be prepared to Do Something Funny for Money in aid of Comic Relief, which will see them contribute to a cause that has helped to raise more than £600 million over the last 13 Red Nose Days.

This money has been used to help transform the lives of people living in both the UK and Africa – with improvements made at school, work and in the home – and Kia is looking to play a part in the continuing success of these efforts.
