Those looking for Kia Picanto deals may be interested to hear that the manufacturer has reassured UK consumers that all Picantos are fitted with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard.
The model was criticised in Euro NCAP's latest test results for not having ESC fitted as standard.
Kia has stressed that ESC is standard on Picantos in most European markets but is not standard across all versions.
Euro NCAP's policy is to test the lowest specification version on offer within Europe and, as such, tested a version without Electronic Stability Control.
However Kia is confident that had the ESC featured been fitted to the version tested then a higher rating would have been achieved during the Euro NCAP test.
All Picantos in the UK are fitted with a range of innovative safety measures including brake-assist system, hill assist control, vehicle stability management, six airbags and an emergency stop signal, which alerts drivers behind that heavy braking is taking place.
Kia recently announced plans to introduce a brand-new Rio to the UK market in time for the 61-plate's introduction in September.
