Mazda is giving its medium sector car a new year boost with improvements to the power, emissions and fuel economy offered by the 1.6-litre Mazda3 diesel.
The 1.6-litre diesel in already the best-selling Mazda3 in the fleet sector but the improvements will add an extra 6ps, taking it to 115ps.
From January 2011, those looking for Mazda3 deals will find a Euro5 compliant engine fitted as standard, with a new six-speed manual transmission offering a 12 per cent increase in torque.
CO2 emissions have been cut from 119g/km to 117g/km meaning all models remain in the 13 per cent company tax bracket, with further improvements increasing MPG from 62.8 to 64.2.
Mazda fleet and remarketing director, Peter Allibon, said: "Having a sub 120g/km car in the range delivering low benefit-in-kind tax bills, strong residual values and first class fuel economy has been crucial to building Mazda3 demand."
The manufacturer recently added a low emission diesel version of its Mazda5 seven-seat compact multi-activity vehicle to its range.
