A new two-litre petrol engine has joined the range of the mega-selling Mitsubishi Outlander SUV.
Priced from £27,680 on the road, the 148bhp two-litre MIVEC petrol unit produces 195Nm of torque and comes linked to an advanced CVT automatic transmission.
Mitsubishi says this auto ‘box offers the stepped shifting of a conventional auto under acceleration and strikes the right balance between performance, refinement and economy under normal driving conditions.
On the combined WLTP cycle, it returns 32.5mpg, emitting 196g/km of CO2 (NEDC: 37.7mpg, 171g/km), while it can get up to 62mph in 13.3 seconds, picking up speed until it reaches 118mph.
Everything else about this new petrol Outlander is essentially the same as the rest of the range. So you get seven seats and 502 litres of boot space, which expands to 1,608 litres with the back seats collapsed. It’ll be able to tow a braked trailer weighing up to 1,600kg as well.
You can order this new petrol unit in the Juro grade and the range-topping 4 (£29,680) right now.
The flagship 4 model comes with leather seats with electric driver’s seat adjustment, a 360° camera, heated steering wheel, power tailgate, blind-spot warning with rear cross traffic alert along with LED headlamps with LED high beam and LED front fog lamps.
Other features chucked in as standard include heated front seats, automatic lights and wipers, rear view camera and keyless operation.
