Dacia’s first EV, labelled the ‘Spring Electric’ concept and is expected in Spring 2021, will become the most affordable EV that you can buy in Europe.
The Spring Electric design and style will follow suit of the City K-ZE EV Crossover by Renault, Dacia’s parent company, which was designed with the Chinese market in mind. As such, it combines rugged styling with sleek aesthetics, like the high ground clearance and ominous LED head and rear lights. The Spring Electric maintains the signature Dacia features as its grille and playful colour styling. However, all features will be revitalised to appeal to a 2021 consumer market.
Spring Electric Provides Efficiency And Affordability
As well as being labelled the most affordable EV in Europe, the Spring Electric also provides a 125-mile range, which makes it an incredibly effective city car. Its compact structure (just 3.7m long) provides the essentials, which brings the ultimate price down dramatically. Its modular design competently accommodates 5 people while navigating the city as easy as pie.
Private And Car Sharing Functions
While the Spring Electric will be marketed for private use, it will also become part of the range of vehicles used for car-sharing services. In effect, it will be assimilated into the group of cars created by the Renault Group (such as Zoe, Twizy and Kangoo ZE) that have proved successful for car-sharing purposes.
All things considered, Dacia has confirmed the Spring Electric will be released with a ‘fair price’ tag, though the exact figure has not been confirmed. It is also not confirmed whether the car will be introduced into the UK market, or even if it is limited to car-sharing schemes.
