New Ford Fiesta deals have continued to be a very popular choice for UK motorists, with the model topping the sales charts for the year so far.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has revealed sales figures for 2010 which show that during the first six months of the year, 57,508 new Ford Fiesta deals were purchased by British motorists.
This figure is almost 10,000 more than the next highest-selling model – the Ford Focus.
SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt stated that the statistics show that the new car market continued to perform above expectations during June 2010.
“Government action to improve access to credit for consumers and businesses will be important in sustaining the momentum of recovery,” he said.
New Ford Fiesta deals were also in the top three for June sales, with 8,279 models snapped up by drivers during the month.
This is up from the figure of 6,619 achieved by the carmaker in May.
