New Kia Picanto secrets revealed

People looking for new Kia deals will be interested to hear that the Telegraph has revealed the secrets behind the next generation model.

The newspaper claims that a revamped 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine lies at the heart of the new Picanto's efficiency.

Kia's new engine boasts CO2 emissions of just 95g/km which means it is eligible for the London Congestion Charge discount and drivers will only have to pay an annual fee of £10 to drive into the centre of the capital for a year.

The Korean manufacturer has used Formula One coatings to reduce friction and boost economy.

According to the Telegraph, the engine has double overhead camshafts with variable timing and diamond-like coating for the tappets and low friction coatings for the pistons.

The new engine a stop/start system as standard, produces 81bhp, and can reach a top speed of 95mph.

People looking for Kia deals will also benefit from superb fuel consumption figures as the Picanto offers 69mpg on its EU combines cycle.
