Vauxhall is set to reveal its latest version of the popular Astra at the forthcoming International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt.
The new Astra will be built in the UK at the Ellesmere Port plant in Cheshire and is designed to be lighter and more powerful than previous versions.
One of the major changes is the introduction of a new range of petrol and diesel engines offering from 100PS to 200PS, including a 1.4-litre ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo that is already being used in the Corsa, Adam and Viva.
Buyers will also be able to choose from a number of options, including both Apple and Android in-car technology.
"The all-new Brit-built Astra raises the bar in terms of quality, design and connectivity," said Tim Tozer, Vauxhall's chairman and managing director.
He added: "Lighter than ever before, with new powertrains and cutting-edge technology including OnStar, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technology, the new Astra looks set to shake up the C-segment when it arrives in showrooms this autumn."
