The multi-award winning Nissan Leaf has claimed yet another prestigious motor industry accolade at the What Car? 2011 Awards.
Motorists looking for Nissan deals will be interested to hear that the Leaf picked up the ultra low carbon award at the annual What Car? ceremony in London.
What Car? editor-in-chief Steve Fowler said: "The Nissan Leaf is one of the most exciting new cars we've tested in recent years and that’s not only because of the technology involved."
He added that the vehicle is a sensible family buy as it comes with plenty of interior space, lots of gadgets, good build quality and very low running costs.
Research carried out by Nissan found that 80 per cent of daily driving in Britain is below 30 miles, and the manufacturer believes that the Leaf's ability to carry five passengers up to 109 miles, is a cost efficient and environmentally-friendly option.
Consumers have been able to order the 100 per cent electric vehicle since September 2010 and deliveries are expected to begin in March 2011.
