Nissan has unveiled a brand new mobility concept car that is expected to compete with the Renault Twizy ZE.
The £5,000 vehicle is an all-electric new mobility concept that looks very similar to the Twizy ZE, which will be made available in the UK in 2012.
Which.co.uk said: "Nissan is first to the punch here in the UK with the Leaf. Available to pre-order now, this all-electric family car arrives in showrooms next year.
"But Renault is already readying the Fluence ZE all-electric saloon in other countries, and the French carmaker will have a whole range of electric cars available by the end of 2012."
The new Nissan mobility concept is a tandem-seater and is powered by a 20bhp electric motor, which is in turn powered by a lithium ion battery pack.
It has zero tailpipe emissions and is expected to be very cheap to run – covering a maximum range of 60 miles.
Last month, production began on the all new 100 per cent electric, zero emission Nissan Leaf.
