Satnavs are the ‘best car accessories’

A survey of 1,000 online consumers carried out by Vauxhall Aftersales has revealed that 58 per cent of motorists have voted satnav as the most useful car accessory ever.

However, as winter weather looks set to remain in Britain into the New Year "snow socks" are proving to be a contender for the most desirable winter accessory.

Currently, Vauxhall is the only manufacturer offering the emergency driving aid and has reported that thousands of people have taken the opportunity to fit their vehicles with "snow socks".

Vauxhall has recommended that drivers travelling around the county during the festive period should have a pair of "snow socks" stowed in their vehicle as a precaution, should they encounter adverse weather conditions.

Drivers also voted for further production of self-driving systems and self-cleaning and waxing systems.

There was also high popularity for devices which allow vehicles to run on alternative energy sources, like electric, water and solar power.

Sophie Thomas, Vauxhall accessories manager, recently said that it is important to learn the lesson from last year and be prepared for whatever the weather has to throw us this winter.
