The Suzuki Baleno supermini is set to be launched in the UK alongside the established Swift.
Details of the Baleno were unveiled at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show and it is hoped the five-door hatchback will be prove popular with those buyers looking for a larger version of the Swift.
It will offer driver and passengers more legroom and will have a larger boot space than the 211 litres available in the Swift.
Designers have reduced the overall weight of the Baleno to help improve the car's efficiency, which could help to widen its appeal.
There will also be a number of new engines on offer, including a new turbocharged 1-litre petrol engine named the BoosterJet. However, it is has not yet been confirmed if there will be a four wheel drive version produced.
Prices are set to start from around £9,000 for the Baleno and will go on sale in the UK next summer
