The popular Toyota Land Cruiser SUV has been updated with a new diesel engine and revamped trim options.
Toyota has confirmed the introduction of a new 2.8 litre diesel engine which offers a fuel efficient alternative to the 3.0-litre diesel.
The new engine option is capable of producing 174 bhp and 450Nm when linked to Toyota's new six-speed gearbox.
One of the main advantages of the new engine is that it offers a nine per cent increase in fuel economy, with official figures of 39.2 mpg and emissions of 194g/km.
Toyota has also reintroduced the five-door, seven-seat base model, as well as offering DAB radio as standard for all Land Cruisers.
Buyers can also opt for the new Touch 2 with Go multimedia system as a £750 option on Active models, although it is fitted as standard on Icon and Invincible trims.
Other options include a high-tech pack of safety features including Active Cruise Control, Lane Change Assist and Multi-Terrain Monitor Cameras that give a complete picture of the area surrounding the car.
Prices for the revamped Toyota Land Cruiser start from £35,895 and order books open at the beginning of next month.
