The new VXR8 GTS has been unleashed by Vauxhall.

The unique motor has been unleashed by Vauxhall and is the most powerful production car to ever come out of Australia. Boasting an Eaton supercharger, almost 600bhp and a 6.2-litre V8 powering the rear wheels, this new and exciting model is based on sister company HSV's new GEN-F GTS,
but has the unmistakable aesthetics associated with Vauxhall. Despite gaining 150bhp and 140lb ft of torque on the outgoing edition, the new VXR8 is available for just £5,000 more.
Sure to be one of the best Vauxhall deals of the year, the motor has an on the road price of £54,999 for buyers in the UK. It is available to order now, with the first batch of deliveries set to arrive on these shores before 2013 draws to a close.
Stuart Harris, head of the Carline Brand at Vauxhall, explained the VXR8 GTS is likely to prove a big hit with buyers, especially as it is significantly cheaper than its main rivals and considerably more powerful.
Mr Harris stated: "The very fact that cars like the VXR8 GTS still exist proves that there is a small, but immensely passionate band of customers out there who want to drive something which is unique and special.
"In its new GTS form the VXR8 offers colossal power and torque in a package that is more technology-led than ever before."
One of the main achievements of the new edition is the fact that for all its improvements on the previous models – including a raft of new technological advances, such as Forward Collision Alert and Brake Torque Vectoring – it has successfully managed to keep all of the character it became famous for in the first place.
Indeed, this is a personality that, as noted by Mr Harris, "no BMW or Mercedes can match".
