Vauxhall names Katie Melua as brand ambassador

Vauxhall has named Katie Melua, one of the world's top music artists, as its new brand ambassador.

The collaboration between the artist and the motor manufacturer will coincide with the singer's 50-city European tour in 2011.

Peter Hope, Vauxhall's marketing director, said that the company is thrilled to be working with Katie Melua as she embodies the forward thinking and energetic values that are important to the manufacturer.

He added: "We are passionate about consistent environmental awareness and social responsibility, as a subject very close to Katie's heart, it only makes the partnership more fitting."

Motorists looking for Vauxhall deals who are concerned about fuel efficiency and emissions may wish to check out the manufacturer's groundbreaking Ampera, which is due for release in 2012.

The electronic vehicle will provide British motorists with the potential of up to 50 miles on battery power with an extended range feature.

Vauxhall recently extended its accessory range by adding a number of new infotainment products to offer customers more choice.
