Vauxhall has confirmed it plans to have an electric version of its popular Corsa model within the next few years.
The popular car could be in production by 2020 alongside the automaker’s Grandland X PHEV plug-in hybrid SUV.
Since being launched as the Nova in 1983, the Corsa is now in its fifth generation and could appeal to those looking for an eco-friendly small car.
Vauxhall/Opel also released its financial strategy, with a strong focus on hybrid vechicles.
Chief executive officer Michael Lohsceller said: “PACE! will unleash our full potential. This plan is paramount for the company, to protect our employees against headwinds and turn Opel/Vauxhall into a sustainable, profitable, electrified, and global company.”
