Vauxhall has promoted its new Cascada convertible with a cheeky advertisement at a football game.
The carmaker decided to highlight the fact the vehicle's roof can be closed in just 19 seconds at the re-arranged match between England and Poland, which ended in a one-all draw.
Heavy rain had forced the encounter to be postponed on Tuesday (October 16th) due to a waterlogged pitch – but questions were raised as to why the roof on the stadium had not been closed earlier.
Vauxhall decided to be pro-active and use the mishap as an opportunity to highlight the advantages motorists can expect to enjoy from the Cascada.
Peter Hope, marketing director at the manufacturer described the stunt – which saw the message The Cascada: A Roof That Can Close In 19 Seconds displayed around the pitch using LED screen advertising – as fun.
He noted: "This is a light-hearted campaign in which we can extol the virtues of the Cascada to a television audience of millions."
