Vauxhall to unveil brace of vehicles in Geneva

The Geneva Motor Show is one of the largest car events in the world and this year Vauxhall will be taking to the stage to reveal two new vehicles, a fact that may interest those looking for Vauxhall deals.

Vauxhall fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the much-anticipated 208PS Astra VXR, which the car maker believes will "wow" crowds ahead of its summer release in the UK.

Based on the GTC's platform and powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged direct injection engine, the VXR is the most powerful Astra ever made by Vauxhall.

The new model comes with a raft of bespoke chassis developments, which have turned the VXR into a "focused, high-performance coupe", unlike any other model.

As well as the chassis alterations, Vauxhall's engineers have included Brembo brakes and the manufacturer's fully adaptive FlexRide system, featuring a Sport button and a VXR button, which offer drivers the choice of two, more focused stages of damper, throttle and steering control.

Vauxhall will also be showcasing its brand new small SUV, the company's first venture into the market. The company hopes the Mokka will make a significant impact on the growing sub-compact SUV B-segment.

It is set to be made available with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive, which will transfer power seamlessly to the wheels that need it most when grip is tested to the extreme.

Motorists will have the option of three efficient engines, which will all be equipped with Start/Stop technology, to provide fuel savings and reduce running costs.

A range of the latest safety features have been added to the Mokka, including Vauxhall's Advanced Adaptive Forward Lighting system, which increases driving safety is based on the third-generation bi-xenon lighting system that includes High Beam Assist.

The new generation Vauxhall front camera system is also available, giving the driver access to a number of functions including Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and second generation Traffic Sign Recognition.

Vauxhall's Mokka will hit the UK market towards the end of 2012.
