Vauxhall tops Scottish sales

Vauxhall enjoyed strong Scottish sales during September as buyers opted for Corsa and Astra models.

The company sold 47,067 cars during the month and was the top manufacturer in Scotland, according to figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

Vauxhall’s recently updated Astra saw its best-ever sales month with 8,776, while the outgoing version of the Mokka had strong sales before the new Mokka X is introduced next month.

“September was a great month for Vauxhall with sales results that we can be truly proud of,” said Rory Harvey, Vauxhall’s chairman and managing director.

“Now we focus on finishing the year strongly with new models including Mokka X and Zafira Tourer arriving in showrooms and OnStar giving us a tremendous lead in the vehicle connectivity arena.”

Vauxhall’s line-up will also be expanded with the new Viva Rocks that recently debuted at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
