Vauxhall’s Luton plant welcomes new Griffin

Vauxhall's Luton plant is going from strength to strength as a "bold" new Griffin reiterates its dominance over manufacturing in the town.

The plant, which is home to Vauxhall's Vivaro, is continuing to build on its production.

Vivaro sales in the UK year-to-date were up 61.3 per cent year-on-year.

Last month the company recorded its 800,000 Vivaro-type vehicle built at the plant in Luton.

Mark Stein, plant director at Luton, said: "Recent developments here in Luton prove that dedication and focus on the job in hand find recognition on all levels – in the market, internally and also with the government."

He added: "The new Griffin
will remind everybody of Vauxhall’s long-standing manufacturing presence in Luton, building Best of British commercial vehicles."

Prime minister David Cameron recently showed his support when he visited the plant.

It is one of the largest van manufacturing plants in the UK.
The long lifecycle of LCVs makes the Luton plant one of the most secure workplaces in the UK.
