Ford adds sporty Mondeo

Ford has added a new model to its Mondeo line-up that is inspired by the automaker’s ST range.

The new ST-Line Mondeo will feature sports suspension, as well as numerous sporty trims and will be available in hatchback and estate versions.

Each car will have unique honeycomb upper and lower front grilles, re-designed foglights plus two styles of alloy wheels to pick from.

Buyers will be able to choose from a 148 bhp and 178 bhp versions of Ford’s 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine and there will be an option to opt for four-wheel drive.

It is claimed the new ST-Line model will be the sportiest Mondeo available since the introduction of the ST220 model over a decade ago.

Ford has yet to confirm the price, but the first delivery of the ST-Line Mondeos are expected in September.
