New models to celebrate Aston Martin Works 60th anniversary

Aston Martin has confirmed it will launch six exclusive versions of the Vanquish to celebrate six decades of its Works brand in Newport Pagnell.

The bespoke vehicles will be based around the company's Vanquish coupe and Volante convertible, but each one will have slight differences to represent various stages of the past 60 years.

Paul Spires, commercial director of Aston Martin Works, said: "This Vanquish and its five siblings are a celebration of 60 glorious years of Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell.

"The team have created a series of cars that are forward looking and dynamic. Their anniversary accents ensure that they are certainly not a retro pastiche of our history."

All of the luxury vehicles will feature the standard Vanquish's 6.0-litre V12, with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This will make the car capable of 0 to 60 mph in a reported 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.

Each Vanquish will also have detailed control dials created from pistons from a number of Aston Martin engines in each centre console.

"We're not aware of any other manufacturer having attempted anything like this before," said Mr Spires.

"I can tell you why – it's because it's incredibly difficult."

The prices of the exclusive models are yet to be released, but they are expected to be higher than the current standard prices of the £192,995 Coupe and £204,995 Volante.
