Bentley Is Going Fully Electric By 2030

Slowly but surely, we are making our way towards a world where electric cars are the standard.

Slowly but surely, we are making our way towards a world where electric cars are the standard. It may not be what some of you want, but it is coming. However, if you are thinking that we will be stuck choosing between either slow and bulky vehicles or a Tesla, you would be mistaken.

Already we have seen the likes of BMW and Mercedes, among other manufacturers, moving into the electric vehicle market. But now, Bentley have announced a very surprising bit of information – they plan to have an entirely electric range of cars by 2030!

A Bright Future For Bentley

This move towards an entirely electric range of vehicles is a definite signal of Bentley’s view for the future of the car industry. They are ready to give up on diesel and petrol engines, doing away with the history those engines have built up and move towards a brighter and cleaner future.

Of course, being that this is Bentley, you can rest assured that each of their electric vehicles will have the same level of quality and care in their productions as they presently do. The luxury that you have come to expect from Bentley will almost certainly only improve, with the added benefit of an electric engine too.

Bentley’s New Electric Hybrids

Bentley’s first steps towards this significant change was to announce two new hybrid vehicles that are set to be launched in 2021. They will join the Bentayga Hybrid to help work towards a previous promise Bentley made to provide a PHEV variation of every model they manufacture by 2023.

Last year, Bentley gave us a preview of the electric vehicles it seeks to release unto the world with the EXP 100 GT concept car. This concept car had four electric motors, providing between 800bhp to 1,340bhp depending on the spec of the motors. That meant that the electric car had a 0-60 mph acceleration of just 2.5 seconds!

With all that in mind, it is very clear that the future is bright for Bentley. With power under the hood, as it were, whilst being emissions free, Bentley will remain at the top of the food chain in the car industry.

What Does This Mean For The Industry?

So, with Bentley now promising to make sure a significant change to their range of vehicles, the question of the rest of the car industry is obviously raised. What will be the future of the industry?

Realistically, every new car will eventually need to be a hybrid as a minimum. Therefore, even without Bentley’s recent move, we would still see the industry moving towards fully electric cars eventually. It is possible that Bentley’s announcement will spur the action to happen faster, but it was inevitable anyway.

So, get ready for more of your favourite car manufacturers to announce that they are making the jump to electric car production in the near future. As the saying goes, “the future is bright”, and this switch can only help that!
