Car buyers not affected by Brexit

The result of the Brexit vote has not impacted on decisions of UK car buyers, claims new research.

A poll conducted by Motoring.co.uk found 73 per cent of Brits planning to purchase a car do not believe their decision which model to opt for has been changed by the vote to leave the European Union.

However, 22 per cent did feel the referendum result may have influenced how much they are willing to spend on a vehicle.

Terry Hogan, co-founder of Motoring.co.uk, said: “Since the vote to leave the EU in June, speculation about how the UK’s economy will be affected has plagued the headlines and automotive is no exception.”

He added: “The survey results clearly show that UK car buyers are looking for value for money and are ready to purchase, if they consider it a good deal for them. We are delighted to see that the majority of our users are undeterred by the Brexit vote and is great news."
