Those looking to take a staycation in the UK in a caravan may wish to take a look at some Volkswagen deals, as the Jetta Sport 2.0-litre TDI DSG has been awarded the accolade of The Caravan Club Towcar of the Year 2012.
VW's Jetta claimed victory in its own class and went on to be voted the overall winner of the 28th Caravan Club Towcar of the Year competition.
A panel of 11 judges praised the car's design and its practicality as a caravanning family car, as well as its performance while towing in a variety of testing situations.
Grenville Chamberlain, Caravan Club chairman, congratulated Volkswagen Jetta for its performance in the testing.
"It really is a great vehicle and it proved itself time and time again with the judges during testing," he explained.
The Jetta was not the only Volkwagen model to pick up an award at the ceremony, as the Toureg Escape 3.0-litre V6 TDI picked up a prize in its class.
